BUILD A MORE COMPLETE COMMUNITY

Economic Development |  Parks |  Community Programs

A community is where you live, work, and play.  District 7 offers much diversity, from our vibrant downtown, theater, and arts district to our beautiful south mountain park and emerging employment corridors. Yet, much is to be protected and enhanced including support for Hance Park development, attracting more sit-down restaurants in Laveen, encouraging growth of the tech corridor along the 202 freeway, and building new senior centers and growing afterschool programs. As Councilwoman, Cinthia is committed to building a complete community that protects our quality of life, supports historic preservation, advocates for our educational community and most importantly, provides our working families with quality jobs and opportunities.

That means:

  •  Advancing the Technology Corridor along the Ed Pastor 202 Loop

  • Enhancing After school programs and youth sports across the district

  • Attracting High-quality, sit down restaurants in Laveen

  • Building a Senior Living facility for Laveen

  • Supporting the Hance Park Master Plan

PROVIDE SAFETY FOR ALL

Law Enforcement  |  Fire |  Emergency Medical Services

Everyone in our community should feel safe. That means an open dialogue between our first responders and our community. And while recent events have shown us the need for police reform, we can support our officers even while challenging the department to do better.  As the District 7 councilperson, Cinthia will advocate for greater collaboration and opportunities for law enforcement interaction that promote a positive and collaborative environment.

Cinthia will push for fully funding of the police precincts and ensuring our emergency medical personnel are equipped with the most advanced technology and resources.  Reducing call times for emergency calls and addressing threats to the community's public safety will remain a top priority for Cinthia throughout her tenure.  She is committed to ensuring District 7 is safe for all families.

Cinthia will also work closely with the Block Watch communities of District 7 to ensure there is collaboration and communication so that neighborhood leaders are aware, vigilant, and supplied with necessary tools and information.  Bolstering such groups will be critical and Cinthia will remain available to respond to Block Watch concerns.

That means:

  • Building a new fire station in Laveen

  • Encouraging a new hospital serving District 7

  • Supporting our Community action officers and neighborhood block watch

  • Fully staffing Estrella Mountain Precinct

  • Supporting our officers, even while we improve policing

  • Encouraging and providing opportunities for positive interactions between public safety and residents

CAPTURE OUR FAIR SHARE

Streets and Infrastructure |  Neighborhood Services |  Parks and Recreation

District 7 is home to many of Phoenix’s most essential workers, our most prolific creatives, and our greatest local businesses.  Yet despite all we contribute, many of our streets lack landscaped medians, our neighborhoods have alleyways choked by illegal dumping, and our parks lack such basics as hand sanitizer stations.  We deserve the same resources and infrastructure that any other part of Phoenix gets.  As councilperson, Cinthia will fight for our fair share and ensure every corner of District 7 is heard.  Cinthia will be available and transparent with all residents and businesses, maintaining her commitment to create a district that promotes equality, safety, and recreational opportunities for both visitors and residents alike.

That means:

  • Increase best practices for community-based policing

  • Enhance our parks and open spaces

  • Invest in our neighborhood streets with pothole repair, added sidewalks and new traffic signals to ensure safe pedestrian and bike routes

  • Encourage affordable housing and protect from gentrification

  • Create quality jobs with benefits for working families

  •  Support small businesses during light rail construction including rent relief and utility assistance

  • Invest in after school recreational programs

  • Create neighborhood block watch groups

  • Stop illegal dumping

  • Protect South Phoenix character, culture, and identity
